How Regulations Crush the Cannabis Industry

As we know, in this day and age, it is imperative that we question everything being told to us. And why is that?

For far too long we have been run over by officials, both elected and non-elected. To be honest, I even hesitate to use the term “elected” since we quite obviously have issues within the election system. But that that topic is for another time. We need to understand anyone can sit behind a camera, read a script, and sound like they know what they’re talking about for the right price. Are you aware that many of the “Experts” shown throughout the media are nothing more than paid stooges to push an agenda or narrative? And why is this so important for us to understand? We speak often of “The Bigs” and of “The Powers that Think They Be”, right? These are the entities that pay others to do their bidding so they are able to maintain control while making a mint off of our continued suffering. These entities and forms of government would have you believe we are here to do their bidding and they have the ultimate authority over that of “We the People” when, if fact, quite the opposite is true. Instead of creating regulations and laws to protect The People, they continuously line their pockets to do the bidding of those that pay money to do us harm. With that in mind, let’s get into the reasons why regulations implemented by those that take money from “The Bigs” to “ensure the safety” of citizens have such a negative impact on the Hemp Industry. Also, let’s keep in mind hemp and cannabis as a whole, was used for thousands of years for numerous things such medicinal teas, herbal salves, breathable textiles and so much more long before “the powers that think they be” decided to interfere for personal gain.

Defining Regulation

Regulation: in government, a regulation is a rule or mechanism that limits, steers, or otherwise controls social behavior.

Well, that definition certainly is an eyebrow raiser. I saw nothing about our health, safety, and/or well-being in there, did you? Regulation actually has a variety of meanings that cannot be reduced to a single concept. For example:

In the field of public policy, regulation refers to the announcement of targeted rules, typically accompanied by some authoritative mechanism for monitoring and enforcing compliance. For years in the United States, the study of regulation has been synonymous with the study of the independent agencies enforcing it.

In political economy, regulation refers to the attempt of the state to steer the economy by imposing economic controls on the behavior of private business or, even more broadly, to include other governmental instruments, such as taxation or disclosure requirements.

These two types of regulations’ primary focus is on the state’s attempt to intervene in private activities.

Then there is the third definition of regulation which goes beyond the interest of the state and focuses on all means of social control. Whether intentional or not, this area of study includes mechanisms such as voluntary agreements and/or norms that exercise social control outside the reach of sovereign states.

So, how does this impact the hemp and cannabis industries?

Regulations enforced by the government Alphabet Soup agencies such as the EPA, FDA, USDA, congress, etc., implement laws that benefit “The Bigs”. They are not in the business of making things better for society at large. If they were, then please explain WHY foods approved by the FDA are banned in other countries because of the toxins and poisonous chemicals in the ingredients. Can you also tell me why there was once a time when farmers could fertilize wearing minimal clothing with their baseball hats on backwards and now need to literally wear hazmat suits to use fertilizers enforced upon them by the EPA and USDA. Could it be because companies pay them enormous amounts of money to pass laws in their favor? How about the CDC? Are any of you aware that the CDC is actually a pharmaceutical company?

With congress placing regulations on hemp in the same manner of marijuana, it suppresses the many products that can be produced by hemp which has a domino effect on many small businesses because of all the bureaucratic restrictions. Remember both hemp and marijuana are of the same cannabis family so laws put in place impact all. With all of the research and mounting evidence that support its health and wellness benefits, the drug war against it is failing. However, despite its momentum in favor of legalization, it is being revealed prohibition still has tremendous support and very deep pockets. And so we bring you:

5 Major Groups Lobbying to Keep Cannabis Illegal

Interestingly 3 of the five are actually in the business of “law enforcement” and the other two? Surprise, surprise! They have products that compete with the cannabis industry.

So, who are they?

Police unions, private prisons, and prison guard unions have all lobbied to keep prohibitions in tact. For example, in 2008, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association spent $1 million to fight against a measure that would have reduced sentences and parole times for nonviolent drug offenders. One of America’s largest for profit prison companies, The Corrections Corporation of America, revealed that the continuation of the drug war is a central piece of their business strategy. Obviously they’re about nothing more than another dolla to make them holla!

And, of course the last two, but certainly not the least, top dogs fighting to keep cannabis illegal is none other than pharmaceutical and alcohol companies. Why are alcohol companies lobbying against legalization? Could it perhaps have something to do with the tax revenue alcohol companies receive? Essentially, for these five companies, keeping cannabis illegal ensures job security and profits.

Let the Buyer Beware

In the end, it goes back to regulations and our compliance. By doing our own research, we are more than capable of deciding for ourselves how we grow and produce products and what we choose to consume. The more we comply, the more we’ll feel the constant oppression of boots on the neck from over bloated, over reaching, “government officials” who are absolutely NOT working in the best interests of “We the People”.
